Paid Opportunity / Experimental Theatre Piece (Portland, OR)
The Deep Play Institute is seeking actors, performers, philosophers, therapists, dancers, movers, thinkers, artists, or any interested persons who would like to be involved in an experimental “conversation piece." This in-person piece will be directed by Aaron Finbloom, and all rehearsals and shows will take place in Portland, Oregon. Applications are due by Sept 26th and auditions will be held shortly thereafter.

You: are available for all rehearsals and shows (listed below)
You: are fully vaccinated
You: have an open mind, have keen critical thinking skills, have the ability to easily access an authentic state of curiosity, have the ability to speak openly, honestly, vulnerably about one’s emotions, have the ability to speak loudly, clearly and quickly, and have the ability to not “hog the mic."
There will be no script, no memorized lines. Instead, production will involve rehearsing a handful of “structures” (which utilize conversational rules/techniques) and work on sequencing these structures into a coherent 45-60 minute piece. These structures are devised from practices that include: group therapy, psychodrama, gestalt therapy, drama therapy, circling, community of philosophical inquiry, group relation conferences, authentic relating practices, performance art. Rehearsals: Wed Oct 6, 6-9pm / Wed Oct 13, 7-9pm / Thurs Oct 14, 12-2:30pm & 3:30-6pm / Mon Oct 18, 7:30-9:30pm / Tues Oct 19, 7:30-9:30pm / Wed Oct 20, 7:30-9:30pm / Thurs Oct 21, 7:30-9:30
Shows: Fri Oct 22, 4-6pm /Sat Oct 23, 12-2pm / Sun Oct 24, 3-5pm
Pay: $200 stipend, plus an equal share of all ticket sale profits
Covid policy: all actors must be fully vaccinated, and wear masks while indoors, and while outdoors unless 6-foot distancing. All shows that involve audience members will require the audience to wear masks.
