The PDX Deep Play Performance Troupe presents: UNDOING - a 4-hour durational performance piece inspired by our December 2024 piece Thresholding. UNDOING is a performance that blends ritual, play, and deep inquiry, as we explore what happens when we let the boundaries between selves, structures, language, and nonsense fall apart. Rather than descending into chaos, this unraveling aims to give way to something more fluid, open, and expansive – the duration of the piece itself becoming a force of undoing, pressing us to loosen these boundaries over time as we oscillate between exhilaration, boredom, fatigue, and exhaustion. The piece is structured around a central game of structured improvisation that shifts between psychodramatic encounters, vocal and gestural conducting, and exercises of somatic regulation and unbridled expression. Additionally, the stark boundary between audience and performer will be "undone," with a designated space for interested audience members to step into the piece and participate.

Location: Performance Works NorthWest. 4625 SE 67th Ave.

Timing: Audience members are welcome to stay for the entire piece, or come and go throughout the 4 hour duration. Covid Policy: We will follow CDC protocol regarding covid isolation and engagement. If any participant has symptoms of covid (i.e. cold symptoms), we ask you to please take a home-test and if you test positive you cannot attend the workshop. If you test negative, and you are sick, we ask you to still wear a mask (as tests can deliver false negatives). For everyone else, masks are optional.
